Linda Pass

Teaches – Open Classical, Tumbi Umbi

Linda has been dancing for over 25 years, and has studied classical ballet, tap, highland, jazz and modern. Professionally she has performed with cabaret dance act The Marzels, performing all over Australia, as well as performing in professional children shows with the same company and various professional pantomimes which included her lead role in one particularly large production as Little Red Riding Hood.

She has achieved honours in all tap exams (BAL) including advanced, received honours in all highland exams completed (NDAA), and has progressed through all graded and senior ballet exams (BAL). Linda has also competed in many highland eisteddfods achieving many placements including winning the Grand Australasian Lesser Known Premiership and 4th in the Grand Australasian Championship. She has represented Australia in highland dance touring New Zealand for exhibition and competition.

Linda enjoys ongoing study in dance, especially ballet, having attended workshops in Melbourne with the Australian Ballet Company, and has regularly attended classes with the Sydney Dance Company. She has enjoyed a ‘different’ upbringing having both parents as professional dancers. Their unique acrobatic cabaret style act enabled them to perform for many years on multiple International and National cruise ships including the Fairstar, and appearing in many leading theatres, clubs, hotels and television in many countries with guest spots on top variety shows and the Royal Command Performance for the Queen. Her father commenced his dancing carrier in ballet, and after moving to New Zealand became one of the foundation members of the New Zealand Ballet Company, before immigrating to Australia.

Linda personally believes that good classical technique builds the foundations that all other forms of dance benefit from, and hopes to instil this, and her love and passion for dance throughout my students and classes.
